In almost 90 years, the Rhyschnoogge have developed from a conservative men's club into a modern, mixed clique. The main aim of the founding members in 1930 was to cultivate traditional Basel drumming and perform at Catholic events. The desire to take part in the carnival became increasingly strong. It was not until 1962 that the AGM, under new leadership, unanimously decided to take part in the carnival in future and in 1980 the Rhyschnoogge became an official regular clique. In the 1990s, the decision was made in favour of a mixed regular club and today there are up to 100 active members.

Years ago, Schlebach AG was allowed to build the Rhyschnoogge's wooden drums for the tambourines and is also happy to carry out regular overhauls of the Young Guard drums.
