the Brig drum and piper association was founded in 1934. After an attempt to expand the association with pipers from 1938-1943, it was not until 1981 that the Brig-Glis drum and piper association was founded in its current form. The tambourines and pipers from Brig-Glis are not only among the best musicians in individual competitions, but have also been honoured several times as festival winners in the tambourine section as well as in the ancestral music. TPV Brig-Glis has been committed to promoting youth for many years and has been organising the internal competitions since 1982, in which all young tambourines and young pipers from the entire Upper Valais are now eligible to compete. TPV-Brig-Glis also organised one of the 8 TamTour Trophies in 2023 at the Stockalperhof to match their historical uniform, the dress of the noblemen at the time of the Great Stockalper of 1650.
