Grimentz already had its own small brass band in 1870, consisting of a few pipes and two drums. At that time, the performances were not so numerous and were limited to the Corpus Christi festival and the day of vineyard labour. It was not until 95 years later, in 1965, that the group decided to found the Société des Fifres et Tambours de Grimentz. With their historical instruments and uniforms, the Grimentz drum and piper association performs at many traditional folklore events.
Schlebach AG considers itself fortunate that we were able to build six new wooden drums for the tambourines from Grimentz in 2023.
